We are walking in memory and celebration of Mary Sliwinski who passed away from Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD) in August 2000 at the age of 63. FTD is a rare degenerative brain disease affecting areas of the brain that mostly controls personality. Mary had a beautiful smile, a big heart and she was always happy whistling all the time. She raised 8 children, was a devoted wife and the ultimate caregiver to many people in her life. She began each morning waking her children for school by singfully saying, "Rise and shine, it's a beautiful day!"
We miss her dearly, but remembering Mary's upbeat personlity keeps us laughing & smiling often. Mary would want us to celebrate her life with positive thoughts and use her personal experience with FTD to help others who are affected by this disease.
Therefore, we are participating in this walk/run on May 20th in King of Prussia to raise money for the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, a non--profit organization dedicated to finding a cause and a cure and offering supportive services for patients with FTD and their caregivers. My family and I benefited greatly from their caregiver support group when Mary was ill. To learn more about the organization, please visit: www.theaftd.org
We ask you to help us with this fundraiser in supporting research and care for this rare disease. If you would like to walk with us, please let one of us know.
Thank you and God Bless.
