About my Fundraiser
On Sunday, May 20th, I will be participating in the Rite Aid Cleveland Half-Marathon.  I will be running to raise money for the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD), in memory of my mother, Sheila Fiermonte, who died in 2008 from Frontotemporal Degeneration.

Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD) is a progressive brain disease that causes a group of brain disorders that are characterized by behavior, language and/or motor symptoms, and an inevitable deterioration in a person’s ability to function.  FTD represents an estimated 10-20% of all dementia cases and affects an estimated 250,000 Americans.  To date there are no drugs approved for the treatment of FTD.  The Association of Frontotemporal Degereration (AFTD) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to focus on advocacy for greater awareness, improved services, and increased research funding for Frontotemporal Degeneration.  AFTD is the only organization of its kind in the country, and relies heavily on donations of generous individuals to accomplish its goals.

If you plan to donate, any amount, large or small, helps to make a difference in the lives of people with FTD, and their families.

Thanks for your support!
